Mazatlan Fish Report
5-6-2010
Larry Edwards
Like Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan is also waiting for a break in the doldrums format of slow fishing in the offshore waters. The overall offshore fishing report for this past week for a total of 9 fishing days reflected 1 striper, 2 yellowfin tuna and 13 dorrado. However, the inshore alternatives from Mazatlan have continuously provided good action for their anglers and this week was certainly no different. The Aries Fleet reflected 5 inshore super panga fishing days that produced 6 dorado, 1 palometa, 37 pargo, 39 red snapper, 3 roncachos and limits of mojharres. It's a steady bite that provides terrific action for family fishing.
Mazatlan Climate: Superb weather that's been sunny and warm days with temps from 63 nights to 88 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: The offshore waters are nearly perfect, but minus the fish. Temps are 77-78 degrees and the clarity is excellent from about 12 miles offshore and beyond.
Best Fishing Area: None reported.
Best Lure/Bait: None Reported
