THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET

The difficult fishing seems to stretch across the Sea of Cortez from Cabo to Mazatlan, a distance of approximately 200 miles, and while March is not well known for good fishing, this March has been particularly difficult and one that will probably be long remembered. On the other-hand, the inshore bottom fishing has been very good and continues to crank out limits of a variety of bottom critters. The offshore fishing results for 26 days fished reflected 4 stripers, 2 dorado, 5 mako shark and 1 hammerhead shark. The inshore fishing for 11 days reflected 170 pargo, limits on roncachos and 121 mojarres. For most of the inshore anglers, it was a very steady bite throughout the fishing day.

Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy days witth temps from 55 nights to 85 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Stable water temps at 74-75 degrees throughout the area and with a greenish tint out to about 15 miles, then becoming fairly clean.

Best Fisihing Area: None reported, with fish scattered throughout a wide area.
Best lure/bait: All of the offshore fish were taken on rigged mullet baits.
