Happy New Year!

Trout action was good this week with anglers using Power Bait (especially salmon peach, rainbow, orange, garlic), night crawlers, jigs and lures. Best bite was before 10am with an afternoon kick after 2pm. Hot spots included the eastern shore and the western shore near the bridge of lake 3 and the northern and eastern shore of lake 2.

Catches of the Week:

Ricardo Cruz of Ontario caught 3 lbs 9 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs on brown /green crappie jig while fishing the northern shore of lake 2 near the bridge and the eastern logged shore of lake 3.

Grand Terrace angler, Chaz Prato reeled in a 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbow using a Power Mouse ( natural worm and salmon peach Power Bait) from the northern shore of lake 2.

Michael Rowick of Santa Ana caught a 4 lbs 4 ozs rainbow on an inflated night crawler doused with Power attractant while fishing the eastern shore of lake 2.

Arlene Herrerra of Romoland reeled in a 2 lbs 15 ozs rainbow using orange Power Bait from the grassy point of lake 3.

Chris Foster of Santa Monica caught a 2 lbs 10 ozs trout on an inflated night crawler sprayed with gulp garlic while fishing the western shore of lake 2.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.

This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
