The giant Atlantic barracuda captured most of the action this week, with the boats averaging a couple per trip fished and rounding out their catches with a wide spectrum of tropics fish. Overall catches for 16 days fished reflected 33 barracuda, 11 yellowfin tuna, 15 triggerfish, 5 grouper, 7 bonito, 6 red snapper and 6 king mackerel, allowing for a 5 fish per boat average for the week.
Puerto Morelos Climate: Mostly cloudy but warm days prevailed and temps varied from 63 nights to 87 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Sea temps stable at 82 throughout the week with light surface winds from calm to 13 knots.
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo were the best bait.
