The water level at Lake Nacimiento fell to 59 percent of its storage capacity

The water level at Lake Nacimiento fell to 59 percent of its storage capacity. Cooler weather provided relief from boat traffic and high temperatures. Bass anglers took advantage of the conditions and reported good fishing. Rapidly falling temps put the damper on the bite early in the week, but the spotted bass bite rebounded later in the week with fish taking finesse baits in 10 to 30 feet of water. Shad schools went deeper in the water column and anglers targeted white bass with Shad Raps and underspins. Crappie anglers found willing bitters near submerged brush, and catfish fell for garlic nightcrawlers and dip baits.
