California Aqueduct Report
5-17-2024
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Bait anglers did well while Carolina rigging cut sardines after check gates. Inside bends and bridge pylons were also good places to hunt for biting schools of striper. Flukes and small paddle tailed swimbaits took zebras in turbulent waters, and walking baits accounted for some good fish during low light conditions. Bass anglers fooled fish with weightless Senkos and grubs on a ball head jig. As usual the bass have been holding in the eddies and slower moving water. Catfish anglers enjoyed excellent weather and good nighttime fishing. Dip baits, cut baits, and chicken liver are always reliable producers in the aqueduct.
