Castaic held near 82 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were in the upper sixties. Bass anglers reported good fishing overall with some days being better than others. Finesse baits have been getting it done with brown, green, and purple colors on drop shot, C-rigs, and shaky heads all fooling fish. Senkos in shades of green with black or red flake worked closer to shore, and some anglers did well slow rolling Keitechs along the bottom. Cobble stone banks and bluff walls have been a good place to toss your offerings. Striped bass anglers trolled umbrella rigs and flies in 25 to 50 feet of water for a few fish, but the bite has been on the slow side. Catfish picked up cut baits intended for the striped bass.
