Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Lake Nacimiento held near 70 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing was decent. Spotted bass anglers used Neko rigs, shaky heads, and darter head jigs to target fish holding in 10 to 40 feet of water. Aaron’s Magic, Ox Blood, and Tequila Sunrise were good color choices. Bass also took deep diving crankbaits and small swimbaits rigged on underpins. White bass anglers used white spoons, in-line spinners and small swimbaits to catch fish holding out in 30 to 50 feet of water. White bass anglers located schools near bait balls before tossing their offerings to the suspended white bass. Crappie anglers rigged minijigs and small live minnows for fair to decent action, and catfish picked up cut baits and dip bait on the long soak.
