Fish Report for 1-5-2024

Nacimiento Lake held near 57 percent of capacity

Chad Burton and Chris Borden

Nacimiento Lake held near 57 percent of capacity, and fishing was good for members of Bakersfield Bass. During their “Hangover Tournament” all boats turned in full limits with first prize weighing a bag over ten pounds. Finesse techniques like drop shot, darter head grubs, and Ned rigs all worked in 10 to 40 feet of water. Anglers also scored bites on small swimbaits and Senko style baits. White bass reports have been slow, but normally white spoons and in-line spinners work this time of year. Crappie ate minijigs and small swimbaits in 15 to 30 feet of water, and catfish slurped up cut baits and dip bait.
