Fish Report for 12-29-2023
The lake held near 58 percent of capacity, and fishing has been fair
12-29-2023
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
The lake held near 58 percent of capacity, and fishing has been fair. Bass anglers used winter techniques to fool spotted bass deeper in the water column. Drop shot, darter head jigs, and split shot grubs fooled fish as deep as 40 feet. Vertical spoons were another good technique to put a few fish in the boat. White bass reports were slow with anglers throwing spoons, white in-line spinners, and small swimbaits. Catfish anglers used cut mackerel, dip bait, and chicken liver for fish in deeper water. Crappie anglers fooled fish in 20 to 50 feet of water using minijigs and small baitfish imitating swimbaits.
