Fish Report for 6-10-2022

Fishing has been good at Castaic

Fishing has been good at Castaic, but some anglers reported the bite as hit or miss. Mornings have been the best time to fool large and smallmouth with the finesse bite fading around 11am. Drop shot, Ned rigs, and Carolina rigs all worked for bites in the 5-to-20-foot zone. Topwater action has been improving in the mornings and evenings. Cut sardines soaked in 20 to 70 feet of water remained the best bet for striper anglers. There were also reports of striper schools boiling on shad at the surface. Trolled flies and umbrella rigs at 25 to 40 feet seemed to score bigger fish last week. Catfish ate dip bait, chicken liver, and cut sardines off the dam, and crappie anglers continued to report slab sized crappie in the Lagoon.
