Castaic Lake Fishing Report
5-27-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden
Castaic Lake fell to 46 percent of capacity, and water temps have in the upper 60s. Large and smallmouth went for finesse baits and small swimbaits near rocky structure. Drop shot, Carolina rigs, and Ned rigs fooled fish in 5 to 20 feet of water. Anglers also did well while using shad patterned small swimbaits and jerkbaits on windy days. Striper ate cut sardines in 25 to 75 feet of water with Kong Island and the buoy line producing the best. Boat anglers trolled umbrella rigs and flies for bites also. Catfish fell for cut baits, dip bait, and chicken liver.
