Fish Report for 5-27-2022

Bass fishing has been amazing

5-27-2022
Chad Burton and Chris Borden

The lake remained at 26 percent of capacity and bass fishing has been amazing. Anglers reported catching more spotted bass than they could count. Early morning topwater has been the most fun way to fool fish, and in the afternoons, angles switched to drop shot, Senkos, and jigs in 5 to 15 feet of water. Bass also fell for crankbaits and small shad patterned swimbaits. White bass took topwater, Kastmasters, white spinners, and small swimbaits, and panfish went for minijigs, small live minnows, and minijigs near any cover. Catfish anglers fooled whiskerfish with dip bait, chicken liver, and cut mackerel.
