The lake held at 53 percent of capacity, and water temperatures have been on the rise. Bass fishing really picked up and anglers are starting to report those 20 plus fish days Castaic is famous for. Carolina rigged C3 baits, drop shot Roboworms, and Senkos all worked for bites. Anglers used Ox Blood, Green Pumpkin, and shad colors in 5 to 25 feet of water. On windy days anglers fished jerkbait in mudlines to fool both bass and striper. Striper also went for cut sardines, and lugworms soaked in 25 to 75 feet of water. The best action has been near Kong Island and the Buoy line. Catfish anglers used dip bait, chicken liver, and cut sardines to land good numbers of whiskerfish.
