Bass anglers are reporting tough conditions

1-7-2022

Kaweah Lake rose to 14 percent of capacity, and bass anglers reported tough conditions. Most of the action occurred in deeper water for anglers using finesse baits and spoons. Drop shot, small jigs, and Carolina rigs worked for bites in 20 to 40 feet of water. One angler reported catching several bass using the “doodling” technique pioneered by Don Ivino. A few anglers reported catching trout while using dough baits, Mousetails, and lures. The DFWL has another plant scheduled for this week. Catfish will eat cut baits, chicken liver, and dip bait all year long.
