East Lake fishing is decent. The heat wave has undoubtedly made fishing more difficult. It’s extremely hard to predict how the aquatic insects and fish will react to the extreme temperatures. Dry fly fishing will likely only be productive in the early morning and late afternoon. Terrestrials are a good bet, as are callibaetis. Damsels are a great hot weather lake fly, specifically the nymphs. Put a balanced damsel under an indicator or slowly retrieve a non-balanced damsel, both work well. Callibaetis nymphs and chironomids are good to put under an indicator. Birds nests and dark assassins are also decent choices. Stripping leeches and streamers is a great way to search for fish. I would target deeper water than typical while the heat is here and I wouldn’t bother fishing during the middle of the day. This heat can be deadly, please prepare properly.
