The Little Truckee River is fishing great. In the morning, anglers will see a pale morning dun hatch and an afternoon spinner fall. Anglers should concentrate on the morning pmd hatch for the best results. Fishing the upper parts of the river are more consistent. Anglers should use a 6x leader with fluorocarbon tippet. Some recommended flies to try are size 20 small midges, size 16 pale morning duns, size 18 blue winged olives, and size 14 crane flies. There is some dry dropper activity all day as well.

Flies/Bugs: Size 20 Beadhead Pheasant Tail Flashbacks, Size 20 Midges, Size 14 Crane Flies, or Size 18 BWOs.
Gear: 9′ 5wt rod with 6x tippet
