Jess Ranch Lakes Staff

The heat was on this week and our crew went to work on the sudden algae bloom. We should have the mat under control by mid week after the second treatment. Trout bite was best before 10am with anglers using everything in their tackle boxes to catch fish. Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, spring green and orange) night crawlers, jigs and lures all caught trout. Most trout were near or over two pounds. Hot spots included the grassy point and eastern shore of lake 3 as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2. Anglers are reporting excellent bass action on both lakes using senkos and drop shotting night crawlers. Hot spots for bass include the southeastern shore of lake 2 near the wall and the northern shore of lake 3. Bluegill are hitting meal worms, night crawlers and small jigs with many near or over one pound. Hot spots for bluegill include the southeastern shore of lake 2 near the wall , the western shore of lake 2 and the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house.
