Trout action was very good again this week with anglers reporting best bite before 10am. Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, yellow, rainbow and orange) night crawlers, jigs and lures all caught limits. Most trout were near or over 2 pounds with many over 3 pounds. Hot spots included the northern and eastern shores of lake 3 as well as the western, northern and south eastern shores of lake 2. Anglers reported good bass action on both lakes using senkos and jigs with bass weighing up to 4 lbs. Hot spots for bass included the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house and the south eastern shore of lake 2 near the wall. Bluegill are biting meal worms, night crawlers and jigs on the eastern shore of lake 2 near the wall and the western shore of lake 3 near the pump house. Anglers are reporting bluegill up to 1 lbs 8 ozs. Catfish are hitting night crawlers and mackerel with fish up to 3 pounds.

#3 : Brian Martin of Victorville caught his 5 lbs 11 ozs and 4 lbs 11 ozs trout on the northern shore of lake 3 and the western shore of lake 2 at Jess Ranch Lakes. He used corn yelow and red, white & Blue Power Bait to catch his fish.

Fontana angler, Gonzalo Gamboa, reeled in a 3 lbs 12 ozs rainbow using a black and blue Roostertail while fishing the eastern shore of lake 3. Larry Pete of Hesperia caught a limit that included a 3 lbs 14 ozs and 3 lbs rainbow. He used a gold Jake lure and fished the western shore of lake 2. Apple Valley angler, Joey Martinez, caught a 3 lbs 13 ozs rainbow on a brown trout jig near the inlets on the northern shore of lake 2. Chris Jacobs of Hacienda Heights caught a 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbow on a blue Thomas Buoyant while fishing the eastern logged shore of lake 3.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. We will also stock 1000 pounds of catfish every Thursday throughout the summer.
This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
