Despite the winds on Friday and Saturday the trout bite was good with anglers using Power Bait ( especially rainbow, salmon peach, garlic, spring green and orange) night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch limits. Best bite was before 11am. Most trout were near or over two pounds with many anglers taking limits. Hot spots included the grassy point, eastern logged shore and the western shore near the pump house of lake 3 as well as the western, eastern ( near the wall) and northern shores of lake 2. Bass continue to improve with the warm up with anglers reporting bass up to 4 pounds.

Catches of the Week:

Larry Wells of Apple Valley reeled in 3 lbs 13 ozs and 4 lbs 14 ozs rainbows from the eastern shore of lake 3 using a Thomas Buoyant. Canyon Country angler, Rodger Soper caught a limit that included a 3 lbs 6 ozs rainbow. He used pink lemonade Power Bait and fished the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Frank Hilarides of Newberry Springs caught his 10 lbs 7 ozs catfish on mackerel while fishing the western shore of lake 2. Dave Smith of Hesperia reeled in a nice 5 lbs 12 ozs rainbow on mackerel on the western shore of lake 2. Moreno Valley angler, Harold Clark used a night crawler to catch his 3 lbs 2 ozs trout from the grassy point of lake 3. Michael Ralston of Palmdale caught a 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbow while fishing the western shore of lake 2 using garlic and orange Power Bait.
