Like the weather, trout bite was up and down with anglers using everything in their tackle boxes to catch their fish. Power Bait (especially salmon peach, orange, and spring green), inflated night crawlers, jigs and lures all caught limits. Most trout were near or over two pounds. Hot spots included the grassy point, eastern logged shore and western shore of lake 3 from the bridge to the pump house as well as the northern and eastern shores of lake 2.

Catches of the Week:

Stewart Kwoh of Los Angeles caught his limit that included a 4 lbs 3 ozs rainbow. He used an orange Power Worm and fished the eastern shore of lake 3. Victorville angler, Mark Chavez reeled in a 3 lbs 11 ozs trout using spring green Power Bait while fishing the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Richard Cervantes of Ontario used a night crawler to score his 5 lbs 15 ozs rainbow near the drain on the western shore of lake 3. Fourteen year old, Andrew Acker of San Bernardino, caught his 4 lbs 1 ozs trout on a Blue Fox Spinner while fishing near the pump house of lake 3. Monrovia angler, Scott Herr, fished the grassy point to catch his 3 lbs 9 ozs and 4 lbs 2 ozs rainbows and used orange Power Bait and a night crawlers to limit. Bob Brumpton of Apple Valley reeled in a 4 lbs 1 ozs trout using salmon peach Power Bait at the Pump House of Lake 3. Another Apple Valley angler, Barry Brown, caught a 4 lbs 8 ozs trout on rainbow Power Bait while fishing near the bridge on the western shore of lake 3. Carlos Lopez of Lakewood fished the inlets of Lake 2 and used rainbow Power Bait to catch his 5 lbs 5 ozs trout. Stacy Eckis of Victorville caught her 4 lbs 5 ozs rainbow on a night crawler while fishing the western shore of lake 3 near the bridge. Mike Kerns of Apple Valley caught his 4 lbs 13 ozs rainbow on a shad jig from the northern shore of lake 2 near the bridge. Brian Langsfeld of Victorville caught 3 lbs 14 ozs and 3 lbs 6 ozs rainbows near the Pump House of lake 3 using a Blue Fox spinner. Chris Kitelinger of Anaheim scored a 4 lbs 13 ozs rainbow on a pink Power Worm while fishing the northern shore of lake 3.
