Jess Ranch Lake Fish Report

3-1-2009
Jess Ranch Lakes Staff

We had a beautiful week with cool mornings and warm afternoons. The breezes (or lack of breezes) seemed to control the bite, but those anglers who worked their tackle and bait manged to catch some nice trout. Anglers facing the up and down trout bite used Power bait ( especially red, white and blue, nymph and natural ), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch their fish. Most trout were near or over 2 pounds with many over 3 pounds. Hot Spots included the eastern, northern and western shores of lake 3 as well as the north and western shore of lake 2. The afternoon warm up stirred the bass a bit and anglers reported a few caught from lake 2.

Ten year old Anaheim angler, James Magee, scored 7 lbs 3 ozs and 6 lbs 15 ozs rainbows using a Trout Teaser on the northern and western shores of lake 3 at Jess Ranch Lakes. Both he and his dad were one short of a limit.
