Snowy weather this last week didn't deter anglers from enjoying a little trout fishing at the lakes. Anglers reported fair to good action on both lakes with Power Bait ( especially Spring Green, Salmon Peach and Chartreuse), jigs and lures all catching limits. Most trout were near or over 2 pounds. Hot spots included the northern and the western shore from the bridge to the pump house of lake 3 as well as the western and northern shores of lake 2. The Lakes will be open regular hours throughout the holidays.

Catches of the Week: Mike Oliver of Victorville caught his 6 lbs 8 ozs rainbow on a white crappie jig while fishing the eastern shore of lake 2 near the Inlets. Monrovia angler Robert Sanchez used a Power Mouse ( orange Power Bait with a Bubblegum Power Worm Tail) to catch his limit that included a 3 lbs 12 ozs rainbow. Sanchez fished the eastern logged shore of lake 3. Matt Larson of Corona caught a 3 lbs 4 ozs rainbow on salmon peach Power Bait while fishing the northern shore of lake 3. Steven Mulberry of Rancho Cucamonga reeled in a nice 3 lbs 6 ozs trout on orange Power Bait near the drain on the western shore of lake 2. Miguel Garcia of Fontana caught his 3 lbs 8 ozs trout on chartreuse Power Bait from the north shore of lake 2 near the bridge.

The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round.
This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.
