Cabo San Lucas Fish Report- The Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet and Fish Cabo Fleet
11-27-2008
Larry Edwards
Just another week of the billfish bonanza, with the striper action
remaining fast paced and at the top off the list. Everyday has been
a "mucho marlin" event for all of the boats and it truly makes for
happy crew and happy anglers. Overall combined catches for the
Gaviota Sportfishing Fleet and Fishg Cabo Fleet, reporting for a
combined total of 62 days fished, reflected 201 stripers, (191
released) 1 wahoo, 16 yellowffin tuna and 131 dorado.
Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy but warm days, temps from 63 nights to
85 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Water temps are fairly stable from the Golden Gate
and around to the Gorda Banks, with sea temps from 81-83 degrees,
slightly higher on the Gorda Banks side.
Best Fishing Area: Golden Gate Bank is still the best but fair
numbers of billfish are being taken along the way.
Best Lure/Bait: Live bait is best at the banks, especially mackerel.
Live Bait Supply: Remains plentiful and easy to replenish at the
Golden Gate Bank.
