The fishing really did pick up this past week and best of all, it was just outside the entrance to the Cabo Bay. High boat for the week was the "Gaviota VII", reporting 9 stripers for 5 fishing days, followed by the "Fish Cabo I" reporting 6 stripers and 4 sailfish for 6 fishing days. Overall combined fish counts for 38 fishing days reflected 38 stripers, (35 released) 7 sailfish released, 30 dorado, 1 cabrilla and 78 yellowfin tuna.
Cabo Climate: Partly cloudy days, light surface breezes, temps from 77 nights to 98 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Very good, temps at 84 on the Golden Gate and rising to 85 at the Gorda Banks, mostly calm seas.
Best Fishing Area: Early week it was at the Jaime Bank and as the week progressed, it was just outside the outer Cab Bay area, maybe just a mile or so from the Arch.
Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was best for the billfish and the yellowfin best on the tuna feathers and cedar plugs.
Live Bait Supply: Not reported.
