Contra Loma Fishing Report

East Bay Regional Park District

Park Hours:

January: 7:00 am – 5:30 pm; all water craft must be of the lake by 3:30 pm

Reminder to boaters: All watercrafts (including float tubes) need to have a wearable Coast Guard approved personal floatation device (PFD) per person. Children age 12 and under must wear personal floatation device (PFD) while the vessel is underway.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The water temperature is around 50 degrees, and very murky. Fishing has been good.

CATFISH

A few catfish have been caught with chicken livers.

TROUT

Trout fishing is good. Anglers are catching them with PowerBait, or white mice tails at the Boat Ramp, East shore or Channel Point.

BASS

Black Bass have been biting nightcrawlers for anglers with boats .

CRAPPIE/BLUEGILL/CARP

No crappie, bluegill or carp have been reported.

CATCHES REPORTED:

Mark Silva from Antioch caught a 6.2lb. trout along the Dam on a mouse tail.

Jason Komperda from Pittsburg caught a 5.5lb. Trout on a boat with Power Bait

Tony Garcia from Merced caught a 5.6lb. trout at Channel Point with white mouse tail
