Horseshoe Lake Report

East Bay Regional Park District
Park Hours:
7:00am -- 5:00pm; all watercraft must arrive before 3pm to be inspected, and trailered boats must be at the kiosk by 4:00pm to be banded.
If the kiosk is closed, please use the yellow Ventek machine to pay for parking (exact change only, please). For fishing permits, you may either use the Ventek machine or the blue iron ranger posts across from the kiosk, from the entrance from the Isherwood Staging Area, and from the walk-through gates by the Sequoia Bridge and from the Niles gate.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes. You can exchange lead tackle at the kiosk in a “1 for 1” trade for stainless steel weights.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Fishing is still pretty good at Quarry Lakes, despite the rainy weather. Del Valle is flooded, so we received their 750-pound plant of rainbow trout from Mt. Lassen on January 18.
We do not sell State fishing licenses at Quarry Lakes, so please be sure to have your 2017 license before you arrive! Thank you!
CATFISH
A few catfish are still being caught.
TROUT
Trout have been the hot bite in recent weeks.
BASS
Bass bite has been fairly slow. Not too many anglers have reported catches.
