The inevitable time to settle up for all the extraordinary calm weather that we have enjoyed thus far arrived on cue. The ride north, notorious for acquainting angler's with Mother Nature's darker side, was indeed a bit sloppy; but really no more than that. Thankfully good forecasting prepared all for the change that we took in stride. On the beam we rolled our way toward lovely Cabo San Lucas where a number of soon to be land lubbers will extend the “fiesta” for a couple more days before meeting Royal Star in San Diego upon return. Other than some nasty bumps in the near vicinity West of Cabo we anticipate a fairly civil ride north. Such fortune should allow us to complete some worthy improvements as we plow up the line and position Royal Star for an on time arrival Saturday the 21st. Appropriate in today's closing is the final voyage photo that again features Charter Master Chris Yamada. In tribute to Chris, and one that I suspect anyone who has fished with Chris will wholly support, I must commend his broad skills as Charter Master and angler. Consistently on Royal Star, since even before my tenure began in 1992, Chris has assembled exceptional groups of individuals focused on all the right aspects of offshore fishing adventures. Voyages that carry Chris' title are coveted by those who participate because they are assured that the environment on board will be focused on fishing, but strong on making the time doing so easy and light hearted. As for Chris' angling skills results speak for themselves. He is among a very elite few that I have had the pleasure to observe. Without delving into names and details I simply make this assertion: in this arena a better fisherman does not exist; that is certain.
