Fine day

No shots at cows for us today, 197 was the largest tuna we could muster; but we've no call to complain. Plenty of now unwanted morning filler, and enough mid morning and afternoon action on 100 – 180 pound tuna, kept us in the game. Our turn on the big one/s will come again. Other than a few “skinnies” that well served the mid day cause little else inspired verse. It was a good day, a day to behold relative to so much else. Time is beginning to run short though; we must make the most of whatever is to come. Photos today feature a countenance recognized and respected throughout the big game fishing world. Cal Sheets, still on the water testing his wares to the delight of everyone who has fished with him, gets it done in these images with his custom narrow “80” that is an absolute beast of a reel. I've remarked before about Cal's affable nature and magnanimous personality. He built his reputation on impeccable standards and innovations that have advanced the long range fishery in so many ways. But his genius goes far beyond just nuts and bolts. Cal's sincere interest in the individual angler's, and the triumph's they achieve with equipment that he mastermind's and engineer's, endears him to customer's on a level that far transcends basic business transaction. He is a trusted ally of every customer that seeks his unique trade; a model that most of us could only hope to follow. Here is Cal today in action at the rail, and with his handily dispatched 175 being hefted on board.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.
