Royal Polaris Fishing Report

Royal Polaris Crew

It was another action packed day on the R.P. today, and the tuna got bigger yet. There were still some in the lower range like yesterday, but we had more in 100 to 180 size than in previous days. We weighed a couple of fish that fell a little shy of cow status but looked too close to know for sure until we checked the scale. Normally unless someone wants to weigh their fish no matter what, only those that have a chance of going over 200 go on the scale. Vladimir Kustudic landed a tuna that there was no doubt about, and he inherited the title of biggest on board so far with a 233 kite fish. Tear jerker of the day went to Stan Bonillas who fought one that no one questioned would exceed the magic number only to lose it literally inches from the gaff when the leader was finally chewed through. Veteran that Stan is, he took it in stride and only smiled. Weather continued to be ideal, and we were again very grateful for cloud cover that kept us comfortable. We are all in good spirits, lots of smiles and laughter. A couple of shout outs tonight, Dick Emerson wants Sharon to know that he loves and misses her, and Nick Didovic wants Judy to know he’s thinking about her in between catching fish. He tells me she always loves my reports and for that I thank her as I need all the fans I can get. The rest of you significant others out there (mine included) you need have no doubt we all feel the same way and as always we thank you for letting us come out here. The technical term for it is “bait bound” but what it means is that at the moment there’s no room for more bait so we get tonight off! Yeah!!

POEM OF THE DAY
He can make a new top shot fast
What a waste, they’ll never last
When it comes to backing, he’s totally lacking
Spooling himself every cast.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 226-8092 to get in on the action.

Almost There Today should be our last day of total relaxation as we are slated to be on the tuna grounds around 7 tomorrow morning. Four days into the trip and finally all the reels are on rods, all the top shots are on reels, and hooks are on the top shots ready for battle. I always find it amazing that most angler’s fishing trips would probably be over by now and we have yet to really start. Let’s...... Read More
