Channel Islands Sportfishing
Good counts coming in from the boats again today. A true “mixed bag” today, consisting of Red Rockfish, Lingcod and many other tasty bottom species. Also in the counts we had more Yellowtail and other game fish like White Seabass and even some Bonito. Some boats had an outstanding day, like Captain Mike on the Erna B. He had a full day charter with some good anglers in search of Yellowtail. Captain Mike said and I quote “we left them biting, eating 80 pound on the corner”. It must have been something special for one of our captains to make a statement like that. Just goes to show you, on any given day these fish can bite and we just need to be there when they decide to do so!
Today's Fish Count: 10 boats and 284 anglers.
1,325 Rockfish, 1 Cabezon, 34 Lingcod, 67 Ocean Whitefish, 2 Sole, 2 Halibut, 6 Sculpin, 42 Sheephead, 40 Calico Bass, 4 Opal Eye, 28 Other Perch, 3 Bonito, 6 White Seabass and 45 Yellowtail.
