Channel Islands Sportfishing
Wet weather all day due to tropical storm Blanca currently off the coast of Baja. Fortunately this wet weather seems to spawn the Yellowtail and Seabass to bite. Much like a day we had in early February where the yellows went off down the coast in Malibu. Today it was at the local islands where the Sea Jay and Island Tak left them biting. Pictured here is Eric Elshire and crewman Donald Fuqua aboard the Sea Jay. Eric caught both a Yellowtail and White Seabass plus a limit of Calico Bass.
Today's Fish Count: 5 boats and 131 anglers.
585 Rockfish, 17 Lingcod, 1 Perch, 6 Ocean Whitefish, 27 Sculpin, 1 Sole, 1 Sheephead, 36 Calico Bass, 4 Yellowtail and 19 White Seabass.

Some boats are making bait on the water before they start fishing. We do have nice live bait in the wells in the form of large Anchovy and medium Sardine. Some boats have found live squid on the fishing grounds, so we recommend everyone bring a squid snagger if they are going on one of our overnight or full day boats. Be sure to ask one of our representatives about tackle requirements for the specific trip you either booked or would like to book. Online booking is always available through our landing website but you can also call us here at the landing to speak with a live person.
