05/08/15 Slim pickin's today also. Not from a lack of sign, thank goodness at least now we are actually fishing, but no real concentrations of the wily devils made for a complicated puzzle; one that we were unable to effectively assemble by day's end. But we remain undeterred. This by far is a zone where it could, it should happen. I could ramble on about all the usual, and unusual, reasons, factors, excuses, etc., but none of it adds up to fish in the hatch. Time now is both our noose and savior, depending on how fishing goes. Suffice it to say that a little good fortune would go a long way. Never one to rely on luck I have to admit that even a little bit now I would humbly accept. Meanwhile we'll keep hammering away at it. Photos today feature long time Royal Star friends Floyd and Jan Abbott. A classic his and her's tale accompanies the images that document Jan and Floyd in tandem action and with their 245# prize. Yes, this monster was landed using two poles and lines. It was simultaneously hooked by husband and wife, and quickly subdued without mercy. I can't recall another giant yellowfin landed that carries such a distinction. The odds of this occuring alone are astronomical. But of course this is fishing; and in fishing time has proven that anything can, and does, happen. Congratulations to Floyd and Jan whom could not have done a more exemplary job of landing this beast; quite a tale. Tim Ekstrom
