Only one school of jumbos that we found today and the wily devils snubbed us. Otherwise the day was occupied with plenty of
action most of which unfortunately for us, but fortunately for them, went back over the side. Needless to say yesterday's
results set the bar pretty high. Eight to fifteen pound yellowfin tuna appeared mighty unimpressive in contrast to jumbo
bluefin.

Adding to the perpetual mystery that keeps us coming back the better size yellowfin in the 25 - 40# class were near non
today. As strange as they have been acting this season one could easily think that they are suffering an identity crisis
confusing themselves with their cousin bluefins. In fact their behavior has been almost identical - one or two days up then
however many days down. We bagged a few, ten or fifteen indicating that there are likely many more around, but the beef was
nowhere to be found.

So goes the offshore pattern that has been consistent in it's delivery of feast or famine since June. Only now the famine
side of the cycle is thankfully augmented by smaller class yellowfin tuna and a few dorado to maintain interest and slap out
a few tags in the acceptable specimens.

Not for us tomorrow though; time to hang up the offshore gear for at least a day or two. The coast is beckoning and we are
heeding the call. Today's photos are a couple more glory images from day one offshore. Royal Star veterans Al Nobutu and Todd
Steckel are rightly proud with their 125 pound class Bluefin prizes.
