Scant to report today as we gained altitude on the inside avoiding a thumping while making steady progress toward our
final offshore destination tomorrow. Entertainment in the form of variety drifts was a marginal morning success as the
bottom grabbers weren't in the mood and the drift was like a river. We made good of it though having a few laughs and
plenty of fun along the way.

Somewhat of a shock in contrast the breezy conditions, sloppy sea state, and butt cold brown water felt more like Old Man
Winter than the easy livin', soft comfortable warmth of yesterday's zone. But this was a temporary condition; a space in
passing soon to be forgotten. Tomorrow's agenda - back to the offshore pursuit of bluefin tuna - will, with more than a
little good fortune, put things back into proper long range perspective.

Photo today features a image grabbed a few days past of Captain Brian Sims and Glenn Busch with his first bluefin tuna, a
dandy, fifty five pound model. Throw a few more like this in the hatch tomorrow and we'll be satisfied all around. Come on
bluefin!

And in short order, with the vast majority of anglers eager to join the early...... Read More

8/05/13 It was a "Plan B" occasion as I felt no love coming our way offshore. A few odds and ends broke up the morning then led to an early afternoon void of thrills. The young natives were getting restless with escapades on the back deck becoming more colorful by the moment; it was time to stop and fish, catching or not. As fortune would have it, for what felt like the first in a quite some time, the day came together...... Read More
