By the time this day was over, with plenty more of what Clipperton has to offer on this run under our belts, we
opted to spend the second half of our fishing time this voyage in search of something bigger. We departed the
atoll successful, a bounty of 70 - 120's reside in the hatch, but the glory - the magical Clipperton fishing
extreme; the diamond studded gold ring, remained just beyond reach.
And that is fishing; that is why the special times generate such intense emotion. They don't happen too often, and
they rarely come easy. As for Clipperton island itself the setting, the idyllic tropical background, the pristine
surrounding waters, are themselves reliable, and always to the satisfaction to those who venture this run. The
island, and the opportunity to fish in such an incredibly unique, amazingly vibrant environment is the reason the
vast majority of anglers choose this adventure.
That portion of the 2013 Clipperton adventure was fulfilled in every respect as anglers enjoyed four full days of
touring the surrounding waters far and near. The feel of Clipperton is incomparable to anything else we do.
Everyone presently on board now knows how true this statement is.
In the end, after four days of looking at tremendous amounts of tuna that were intent on following their program
far more than ours, and working overtime to extract any significant sign of yellowfin above the size class we were
working on, my fishing instincts directed us elsewhere. For certain we could have remained and enjoyed plenty more
of the same, but after four full days it would have been just that - more of the same. "Variety is the spice of
life". So we're looking to spice it up a little investing the same amount of fishing time, while breaking up the
long northerly ride, in another zone.
Photos for the day feature a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and Clipperton veteran from the previous
year, Andre De Boton pulling on a good one with the enchanting Clipperton Isle providing the background. Photo
number two features a birthday photo and call out to Mrs. Steve Busch from your man who actually has several fish
far bigger than the eighty pounder in this photo. We chose this image however as this "little one" did an
outstanding job of representing the Clipperton brand absolutely tearing up Mr. Busch, much to all our delight,
especially his, during the final minutes of a valiant battle. Classic Clipperton. Happy Birthday Mrs. Busch from
your happily satisfied husband.

3-7-20133/6/13 Steady progress, though still no big bonanza, as we continue to look at an incredible bounty, steadily accumulate 70 - 120's in the hatch, but long for the full potential of Clipperton to be unleashed. There are a lot of fish here; finding the biggest of the bunch is the real challenge.
