Today we were witness to one of those remarkable transformations the ocean makes that reminds us of the fact that we really don't know a whole lot about what is going on out here and that we can't count on anything - except that change will occur. As fishing was so fantastic over the prior two days you have probably deduced that the change at Isla Socorro today was not for the better. Such was indeed the case as ripping currents stirred things up resulting in the ocean around Socorro awash in green water. We did manage some early morning catching on the fifty to one hundred pound class tuna but around the most successful time of day one and two days past the ocean went dead. No jumpers, no birds, and green water. Not good. And so the search began that by day's end found us back up the hill thirty miles where we finished off our day at San Benedicto with a couple of handfuls of 40 - 90# yellowfin before darkness fell. The main goal of returning to San Benedicto was accomplished in short order after darkness however and we wrapped up the day on a southwesterly course for Roca Partida where will we give it a good look tomorrow.

All told the lull in the action was received in stride as anglers relaxed, caught up on their rest, and enjoyed a day of leisure while servicing their equipment and preparing for the final five days of fishing on the outside. With three days of perfect weather in the forecast and a load of bait that any genuine fisherman dreams of, we are ready to get back to the business of catching. Time will tell.
