Fish Report for 2-2-2008
We can't exactly say that the fishing part of this move went in our favor as we gave it our all again yesterday for a couple of handfuls of mid grade fish and one standout at one seventy one. Obviously there has been a marked change in the outside zone as we finally found the big dolphins we were looking for but they were carrying almost no fish. Although it was not the kind of change we were hoping for, we are seasoned enough in this arena to accept the inevitability of these downturns without too much surprise. So, with the writing clearly on the wall, fine weather to travel in, and three full days of fishing time remaining, we are back to the search mode relocating to the "inside" where we plan to get back in the saddle with a strong finish. We will see if the fish gods agree.

1-31-2008Well it wasn't exactly the day we had our sights set on as the big black dolphins pulled a no show leaving us holding the bag so to speak. We did manage to find one spot in the early a.m. that produced a couple of handfuls of 60 - 90# yellowfin, but the trophies we came here for eluded us to the end of daylight. Another fine day of production on mid size yellowfin in the fifty to one hundred ten pound class in sloppy sea conditions that were thankfully made tolerable by the ability to remain stationary on the anchor while the fish came to us. What a godsend as anglers awoke to find an eager school had found us during the night and were ready to get with the program right out of the gates. We remained on the anchor throughout the day......
