Royal Star

Well this ought to be the true test as "Old Lucky" Toussaint is back on the beach and I am gracing the helm on a southerly track to the glory zone. Let's hope so anyway. I must admit that overall things feel pretty good as our one code boat below got back on the big fish yesterday and the weather forecast promises to go our way during the next few days. In the meantime we are feverishly building new gaffs, servicing equipment, and preparing our tackle for what we hope will be at least a fair opportunity in the lower regions next week. Our load of bait is as perfect as one could hope for and we are mighty thankful for the fact that we have access to up to the minute information from our invaluable code boats on the grounds. Presently there are several of us on our way down the line so our combined efforts will be a huge advantage in keeping the fish located once we arrive in the zone. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves however as I readily admit that more than anything it is up to the fish.

So, we are highly optimistic today and also very thankful for the significant change in conditions that inspired those tuna to finally get with the program down below. With plenty of effort and a lot of luck, we will keep the ball rolling in the right direction. Look for daily reports to continue from today on.

The final three fish we pulled through the gate were a couple at 290 and a 310, what an incredible way to finish the...... Read More

Tough weather conditions made for a frustrating day as far as landing big fish goes but we still had a nice day. We ended up with 10 fish, most of which were 100-175 with two over 200lbs. We are going to finish up the trip here tomorrow with high hopes for better weather and a grand finale. ...... Read More
