Fish Report for 11-18-2007
Our grand finale wasn't looking pretty by noon today but in a classic example of how quickly things can change in this area, we rolled into a stop on cows that lasted into the dark. When the dust settled we had seven over 200, one over 300, and a handfull of small ones that were 160-190. The final three fish we pulled through the gate were a couple at 290 and a 310, what an incredible way to finish the trip. It's hard to put into words the electricity felt in the air in a stop like this when every swing of a rod means another 200lb plus fish. I know we've said it already but make sure if you're on an upcoming trip, bring plenty of the big gear. We used 50-100yd topshots of 135lb Izorline with 9/0 2005 Eagle Claws almost exclusively. We also fished the Blackwater 130lb flourocarbon on some of the scratch bites and did land a 290 on it. We put an incredible amount of pressure on this fish in choppy conditions, factors that have caused other flourocarbons to fail in the past but it held up beautifully. Brian on the Angler wrote up a tackle reccomendation that should be on his report from yesterday that he spent considerable time on, you might check it out if you're on an upcoming trip.
We are presently running up the line in good weather while savoring the memories from the past week and breaking down the gear. Hopefully we'll be in by 0700 Wednesdayreplica concord watches replica gaga watches nubeo replica watches glashutte replica watches and will be in until Friday. It will be up to Tim to keep the ball rolling on our annual Let's Talk Hookup 10-day that departs on the 23rd so look for his reports to resume on the 24th. I will sign off wishing all our loyal passengers a happy and heathy Thanksgiving from the Royal Star family.

We are going to finish up the trip here tomorrow with high hopes for better weather and a grand finale. ...... Read More

And so it continues. Big bruisers are patrolling the lower zone with just about everyone in the area getting their licks in. Yesterday's scores boasted of bona fide whoppers with several over the three hundred mark and quite a few other giants that are forever to be remembered as one that got away stories. Suffice to say that once again there are many opportunities at once in a lifetime achievements out there. Only in the arena of long range fishing will...... Read More
