We started our annual Ventura Sportfishing Club ten day today prospecting offshore for wahoo. We found numerous kelps in good water that produced decent action on nice grade dorado, but we landed only two wahoo. We opted to release all the dorado aside from what we needed for a meal so we can hopefully get a shot at them later in the trip and put them in the RSW. We are presently traveling in towards the ridge where we plan to spend a few days while we wait for hurricane Paul to clear out. Aside from some rain, our weather is beautiful.

A picture perfect ending to the fishing phase of our voyage with the second spot ventured producing fantastic action on beach grade yellowtail we typically define as twelve to eighteen pound fish. Incredible weather, beautiful scenery, and a motivated school of yellowtail biting any form of bait or lure anglers chose to use and, as reported, it was an ideal finishing round to what has been a excellent fall ten day voyage.
