Fish Report for 8-13-2006
Well it's pure damage control now as the outside island did not come through in any way. Yes we scratched a few quality yellowfin, but between the Great Whites collecting their dues and a very significant lack of fish, our report from the outside is not a good one. I do not feel that it is doomsday and the sky is falling at Guadalupe. We simply hit it on a couple of off days that will, in all likelihood, be followed but plenty more good action on quality yellowfin. In the meantime, we are scrambling for the inside with high hopes that the yellowtail will be available and in a biting mood as we have plenty of ground to make up in the catching department. Good weather and conditions are in our favor so time will tell

8-12-2006Not exactly the beginning we were hoping for as we could not put together anything substantial at the island despite seeing plenty of fish around. Aside from the small highlight of four wahoo, the catching portion of our day was very tough with the fish displaying unsettled behavior and very little interest in sticking around the boat. After a successful turn around the bar is again set high as Captain Toussaint returned from the previous Pacific Edge five day with a beautiful catch of mixed albacore, yellowfin, and yellowtail in premium, fresh condition. With any luck it will now be our turn as the setup continues to offer promise in several locations other than the far offshore zone that was producing limited albacore action for a lucky few boats.
