"There's two areas of fish," said Vagabond skipper Gordon Lackey after docking the rig at Point Loma Sportfishing August 26. "They're biting in one area in the morning and another in the afternoon."
""Our weather was good," he continued, "but it became great."
Jerry Napolitano of LA won first place for a 35-pound albie. He said he caught it with a sardine on a 3/0 Mustad hook and 25-pound Maxima line. He fished with a Trinidad 20 reel and a Lamiglas nine-foot rod.
Jeff Morris of LA was second for a 34.6-pounder, and Al Herbert of Glendale won third place for a 33.6-pound longfin.
