Shogun docked under skipper Bruce Smith's hand at Fisherman's landing September 10, following a five-day trip with 24 anglers. Two wahoo were caught with the tuna at Guadalupe Island, and the boat checked out yellowtail fishing along the beach, which was fair, with a few larger yellows caught.
John Savoy of Caldwell, ID won first place for a 74.5-pound tuna. David Stout of Bishop was second, for a 70-pounder, and Jason Thibodeau of Caldwell was third, for a 67-pound yellowfin.
Chris Tilley of Bakersfield posed with a typical tuna in the 60-pound class.
