The full moon had more of an effect on the offshore action and it seemed to slow the billfish bite down a bit. However, the inshore action was very good for 30-40 lb. roosterfish along with a good Sierra bite and a mix of jack crevalle and bonito. According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the roosterfish were in big schools and chasing the sardines along the surf line. Temo says the inshore action was very good and providing lots of action for the anglers pursuing the roosters. "Our weather continues to be near perfect and the waters are calm throughout the area and following the full moon, we should see the billfish bite bounce back into high gear".

IZ Climate: Lots of sunshine with a few clouds mixed in here and there and temps that ranged from 72 nights to 91 daytime highs, just incredibly perfect weather.

Sea Conditions: Very much improved both inshore and offshore. Inshore temps holding at 81 and offshore stable at 83. Surface winds mostly from the west from calm to 13mph. Flat seas for the most part.

Best Fishing Area: Starting at about 10 miles out front of the Bay for the billfish and along Pantla Beach for the inshore action.

Best Bait/Lure: Offshore, the fresh rigged baits were best for the billfish. Inshore for the Sierra, the spinning gear was the hot item but for the roosterfish, live bait and poppers.

Bait Supply: Good supply of both, live bait at $5.00 per dozen and fresh baits f or rigging.
