Cachuma Lake Staff
Some anglers report good action from the shore in the Harvey's Cove area and the creek channel in Drakes. Boaters scored in little Cachuma, Johnson's and big Cachuma Bay. Nightcrawlers, cut Mackerel and packaged dough bait all got it done.
The wait is finally over for the fisherman that like to catch rainbows. On Nov. 6th Cachuma will get the 1st of 6 4,000 lb. plants from Calaveras Trout Farm. These 'bows are triploids. Fish to 8 lbs. are included in the plant.
The Bass bite is very inconsistent right now. The water has rolled and the fish are suspended. Bowfishing for Carp can provide some good action and numbers of fish have been seen in the mid-day hours in the back of shallow cuts and coves. No panfish were reported at the Marina.
