John Conniff docked his Islander August 5 after a three-day trip. He tied the rig at Fisherman's Landing and offloaded the catch. The winners were determined aboard.
William Lopez of Hawthorne took first place for what Conniff said was by far the best fish, a 29-pound yellowtail. It was his first trip of over one day.B,r>
Lopez said he bagged his prize-winner on a sardine and a 2/0 ringed Super Mutu hook. He fished with 30-pound line of an unknown make, a Penn 500 reel and a seven-foot Ugly Stick.
