Hesperia Lake Staff

The Catfish bite has been good at Hesperia Lake. Best action has been on a Carolina rig with garlic crawlers, shrimp and mackerel. Action has been good all around the lake with the best bet being around the small island. Larger fish coming from the catfish point, and the finger. Some limits in the 2 to 3 pound range. Tony Barajas of Hesperia used garlic crawlers for a 9.5 pound fish around the inlet. Michael Ray, Fullerton had a 7 pounder off the north shore using mackerel. Jack Stone of Hesperia had two nice 4 to 5 pounders from the finger and Janet Garcia of Adelanto landed a nice 8.75 cat on Hog Wild and shrimp. 1,000 pounds of fish on Monday and again next Monday. Lots of large fish still prowl the depths. The lake is open from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the day session and 1:00 to 10:00 p.m. for the night fishing. No state fishing license is required here.
