Hello from your Lake Jennings!
Not much to report this week but there is definitely top water action at the break of daylight. These may be Bass or Wipers or even both but no reports since the heat and humidity put both the fish and fisherman on hold. This is typically a slower time of the year as we begin the transition into the new season.

Best Catfish Spots: Deeper waters and the buoyline at the tower
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver, Dough Bait and Nightcrawlers.
Best Bass Spots: Points in 20' to 30' of water along the weed line. Topwater at the beginning of the day.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crankbaits run shallow for early morning and evening top water and throughout the day using a drop shot. Lake Jennings now has medium size live shiners for bait.
Best Wiper Spots: On the move in schools
Best Wiper Lures/Bait: Crankbaits, Rapalas and Spinners for trolling. Live Shiners or dead Anchovies and Minnows
Best Pan Fish Spots: T-Dock, Cloister and Half Moon Coves
Best Pan Fish Bait: Wax Worms and Meal Worms.

Notables: No limits caught

Prognosis: The topwater bite should improve as we move through September with warm water temps. We are expecting more Wipers towards the end of the month with the majority being legal size (15" +). Even though a couple of thousand pounds is not a large amount of fish they are aggressive enough that this may help out the bite as they compete for food. Keep reading the reports for the Trout stocking schedule and NEW this year, Lake Jennings will have TROPHY size trout mixed into each trout stocking throughout the season.

Water Temperature: 80.5 degrees on surface

Note New Hours:
FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY
OPEN AT 6:00 AM
CLOSE AT 7:30 PM

Shore fishing below campground is available by purchasing permits at the campground Monday thru Thursday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
