The catfish bite at Santa Ana River Lakes is hot, especially on the weekend overnight fishing sessions. The overnight 24 hour fisherman have been taking advantage of the red hot late night bite.

Dan Freeman & Tamie Clark, pictured from City of Industry landed 13 catfish for a total weight of 39 pounds. The two anglers heaviest catfish weighed in at 7 1/2 pounds fishing with mackerel at the bubble hole. Eladio Astorga of Alhambra caught a 7 pound catfish using a mealworm & marshmallow combination also fishing at the bubble hole. Mike Perez of Anaheim decided to fish overnight and landed his 10 catfish limit totaling 24 lb. 4 oz. Mike was using night-crawlers soaked in Eagle Claw Gravy fishing in Chris' Pond. Dan Ortiz of Placentia caught 5 catfish totaling 16 pounds, with his largest catfish weighing 5 pounds. Dan was fishing by the boat dock in the big lake using fresh shrimp.
